ITALIAN GROOM, PRINCESS BRIDE (2) by Rebecca Winters: Princess Regina Vittorio of Castelmare has been engaged to a prince for years, but she really loves
veterinarian Dizo Fornese. When Dizo leaves town, Gina follows -- and they end up in bed. They don't make love, but photographs are taken -- and Gina's brother, King Lucca, decides they should marry to avoid a scandal. Very much in love but unable to express it, both are unhappy, and finding a way out of the trap they're in seems nearly impossible. Headstrong Gina is easy to relate to, but the same can't be said of Dizo. The forced-marriage scenario is extremely hard to swallow too -- and it's far from romantic.
