Ford gives us an authentic, sympathetic and witty Jane Austen as a modern-day vampire complete with angst and emotion as she faces the challenges of a rediscovered career and love. An inventive mash-up plot coupled with creative storytelling and amusing dialogue make this story a delightful read.

The legendary Jane Austen is alive and well, and living in upstate New York -- all because she is a vampire. She is a bit frustrated by the fact that though her books are still selling, she reaps none of the rewards because she is supposedly dead. In addition, she is trying to get her latest manuscript published, which has been rejected 116 times over the last several centuries. However, when her manuscript is finally accepted, she lands in the spotlight again with the new challenge of trying to keep her true identity a secret while grappling with something else quite unexpected -- love.
