FOR JESSIE'S SAKE
When Colin McCarthy arrives at her BandB on a rainy night, Abby Hopewell isn't happy to see him. They were once lovers, and Colin broke Abby's heart in a particularly brutal way. But she can't turn him and his young daughter, Jessie, away. In fact, Abby allows Colin and Jessie to stay while he begins restoring his family home and breaks ground on a new housing development. She's still attracted, but Abby won't let Colin get too close -- there's too much at stake. Kate Welsh's For Jessie's Sake (2) utilizes an extremely overworked premise, and the plot totally overwhelms what little spark there is between the characters.
