THE KEEPERS: CHRISTMAS IN SALEM (4) Anthology: In four holiday tales, paranormal couples work to solve the mystery of why Salem has gone dark for the season while rekindling their own romances. In Heather Graham’s “Do You Fear What I Fear,” Keeper of the Vampires Samantha Mycroft and vampire Daniel Riverton save a young vampire beset by depression and lost love. In Deborah LeBlanc’s “The Fright Before Christmas,” Keeper of the Elementals Rebekah Savay needs former rival Vaughn Griffith’s help to save a black hole elemental before its absence causes chaos. In Kathleen Pickering’s “Unholy Night,” Keeper of the Selkies Katie Sue Montgomery gives up her life on land for her selkie lover, Jett. And in Beth Ciotta’s “Stalking in a Winter Wonderland,” Keeper of the Witches Juniper Twist and her ex-wizard lover Basel Collins must catch the warlock responsible for the darkness. In spite of the fast pace, the stories tie together nicely and the characters all have real chemistry. Four well-written tales make this a fun read.
