After witnessing a murder, reporter Natalie McCabe receives threatening letters, even though the killer is safely behind bars. The D.A. hires Vincent Fortune to protect her. but Natalie isn't pleased. She's working on a story about how a con man has bilked her elderly neighbors out of their savings, and having a shadow as large as Vincent isn't exactly conducive to subterfuge. Besides, he makes her just plain edgy, so she constantly tests him -- until her rebellion almost proves fatal. Though Keeping Her Safe (3) starts out strong, and Natalie's chafing under the restraint of Vincent's protection is adequately explained, her willfulness soon comes across as foolishness. The intense chemistry Myrna Mackenzie creates isn't enough to compensate.
