THE KEY ON THE QUILT
Whitson captures the reader’s attention from the first sentence. You will not want to put the book down. The characters in the first Quilt Chronicles book are well thought out and well defined and wonderful to read about as we learn their stories.
Jane Prescott is serving a 10-year sentence for killing her husband. She finds herself with other female prisoners who are starting to realize they may have a real chance at finding happiness after they are released. They decide to make quilts, and tell their stories through them. Jane hopes that she and prison doctor Dr. Zimmer could become more than patient and doctor, but is unsure of how he feels about her. After he learns her secret, he will do anything to help her. (BARBOUR, Mar., 320 pp., $12.99)
