A KID TO THE RESCUE (4.5) by Susan Gable: Although skeptical of art therapy, Shannon Vanderhoff brings her nephew, Ryan, to Greg Hawkins' program after Ryan sees his father kill his mother and stops speaking. Greg helps both nephew and aunt get over the terrible tragedy. Emotionally charged scenes and a terrific plot make this novel a must-read. Gable's writing is clever, and the emotions she portrays are exceptionally realistic.
