After having been publicly maneuvered into another engagement by her father, socialite Celeste Bennett is determined to break things off. At the same time, she is approached by NASCAR driver Beau Lansing, who informs her that her biological father, racing owner Travis Chastaine, is dying and needs her help.

Travis needs a kidney transplant,
and Beau is determined to save his boss' life. Celeste is not immediately swayed, but she does agree to go to Florida to meet Travis.

Since Travis is unaware of Beau's mission and has never seen his daughter, Celeste will join the team as the new sponsor liaison. But her meeting with her father is hampered by the realization that someone is trying to kill her.
