RT Rating

Hill’s latest is a big change from the usual paranormal romance, standing the typical vampire myths on end. Readers may think the idea of vampire Viking angels is a little too bizarre, but Hill really makes it work. If you like your books steamy with a healthy dose of humor, this is the book for you. Ivak is one of those men you want to hate but can’t. Although he is trying to redeem himself, the scoundrel in him just cannot be completely quelled. His charm is part of what will keep you turning the pages quickly. Sexy and sarcastic with a healthy serving of danger, this Kiss of Temptation will satisfy all your cravings.

Guilty many times over of the sin of lust, Ivak Sigurdsson is now paying penance as a Viking vampire angel fighting demons known as lucipires. His current mission is at Angola prison playing the role of “spiritual adviser.” His life of celibacy has been a challenging one, but never more difficult than when he meets Gabrielle Sonnier, a lawyer whose brother is serving time in Angola. He swears he will keep her safe, but his vow of celibacy makes it almost impossible to be around her. Constantly vying for Gabrielle’s affection while protecting her from rampaging lucipires is the most difficult mission Ivak has ever taken on. When he and Gabrielle discover that they are truly soul mates, will Ivak be able to pay his debts at last and be allowed love? (AVON, Apr., 384 pp., $5.99)
