A KNIGHT AND WHITE SATIN
There is no real connection between Payton and Dallis and the character build-up simply occurs too late in the book to be really effective. The beginning and end of the story overshadow the positive aspects of the book’s solid middle.
When Dallis Caruth is forced to marry the King’s champion, Payton Dunn-Fadden, she vows to get her revenge on the husband she hates. But as the couple spends more time together, hatred turns to love, and Dallis learns that some things are more important than vengeance. (ZEBRA, Oct., 352 pp., $6.99)
