KNIGHT OF DESIRE
by Margaret Mallory

Genre: Historical Romance
Sensuality: HOT
Setting: 1400s Wales and England

RT Rating

Set during the Welsh rebellion against the English, Mallory's debut is impressive. She breathes life into major historical characters and presents varied political viewpoints in a dramatic romance.

Lady Catherine Rayburn, married against her will to an abusive husband, supports the overthrow of King Henry IV. She provides information on Welsh rebels to her lifelong friend Prince Henry (later Henry V). When her husband is killed as a result of the information she provided, King Henry IV declares her lands forfeit and gives her in marriage to William FitzAlan, a strong supporter and leader of his troops.

William is pleased to be awarded
a wife, along with her lands, but is concerned about her trustworthiness. What begins as a strictly physical union soon becomes a poignant love. Some problems result from their mutual distrust, but as both drop their guard,
a heated romance and a resolution to support the king results. (FOREVER, Jul., 354 pp., $6.99)
