THE KNITTING DIARIES
by Debbie Macomber, Christina Skye, Susan Mallery

Genre: Mainstream, Anthology

RT Rating

This collection of fun, heart-warming stories is drawn together with a knitting theme. Each story is a stand-alone novella with the unique voice and style of its author, but the shared themes of community and family make them cohesive. All three are fast-paced, emotional reads with memorable characters in intriguing situations.

Macomber’s novella focuses on a single mother with an adopted daughter. The daughter’s wish is for her mother to fall in love with her biological father, who has recently entered her life. Mallery writes a passionate tale which unites two characters who are full of distrust, until they realize that they have totally misjudged one another. In Skye’s story, a woman recovering from a car accident learns to take new and unexpected risks. (MIRA, Apr., 352 pp., $7.99)
