LADY ALLERTON'S WAGER
by Nicola Cornick

Genre: Historical Romance
Setting: Regency England

RT Rating

Widowed Lady Elizabeth Allerton thinks it is great fun to attend the Cyprians' Ball disguised as a demirep.

But she gets more than she bargains for when she wins a wager for Fairhaven Island with Marcus, Earl of Trevithick. Remembering the stories from her childhood of the feud between her
family and the Mostyns and the Trevithicks, it has been her dream
to recover the island.

Marcus is captivated by this sensuous young woman, while Beth finds this darkly handsome man a bit irritating. She soon discovers a desire to taste the passion that has been missing from her life, and Marcus is willing to oblige.

Will a misunderstanding, a lack of trust and the truth about Fairhaven Island and the feud pull them apart? Though a minor situation does not come
to a conclusion, LADY ALLERTON'S WAGER is nonetheless a charming, enjoyable read. SENSUAL (Apr., 298 pp., $5.50)
