In Montana, Kristin gets involved with a shady lawyer and an unscrupulous land baron. She's just about had enough when Buck Lenning, her foreman, reveals that the ranch house is his.

They come to an understanding and Buck reveals a tender side as he cares for his father. Buck sees hardworking, compassionate Kristin as the woman he would like to spend his life with.

Kristin slowly discovers that she is falling in love with Buck and that they want the same thing, a home and children. Both will have to fight for not only love, but Larkspur as well.
