Old love, a stalker, family secrets and a troubled boy find a home in the kind of small town that speaks of deep roots and a caring community. Readers are in for a treat in this story bringing two former lovers back into the same circle, with all the baggage of the past and the desire for a fulfilling future.

Fifth grade teacher Mia Quinn expected to spend her summer in Lonesome Way, Mont., sewing for her quilting group’s fundraiser and caring for her rescue dog, Samson. But all those plans change when Travis Tanner, her high school boyfriend, now a former FBI agent, lands back in town with his 10-year-old adopted stepson.

Travis needs Mia’s aid to help the troubled boy catch up with his schooling and Mia can’t turn away the child. More than that, Mia’s quick to discover that even though he had broken her heart all those years ago, her heart is more than willing to rekindle the flame. Travis knew he’d hurt Mia, but now he’s back and determined to win her over again — and to turn their broken past into the kind of future they’d dreamed of. (BERKLEY SENSATION, May, 304 pp., $7.99)
