LAST BREATH
by Rachel Caine

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Urban Fantasy

RT Rating

For the residents of Morganville, both human and vampire, life has gotten considerably more hazardous in recent months, but nothing can prepare them for what is about to occur. The evolution of Claire Danvers from tentative teen to fierce champion has been fascinating. Caine builds the action and tension to a pulse-pounding crescendo, leaving readers anxiously awaiting the next installment of this stellar series. Hang on with all your might, for this is going to be one bumpy ride!

Despite objections from both humans and vampires, Claire, Shane, Eve and Michael are pushing ahead with Michael and Eve’s wedding plans. Then vampires start disappearing around town. After Claire has a strange run-in with a mysterious individual named Magnus, she grows even more concerned, because something has both Myrnin and Amelie terrified. Bad things happen when vampires are frightened, which means that events are about to challenge Claire like never before, and there is no guarantee that she will survive. (NAL, Nov., 352 pp., $17.99)
