London’s Secrets of Hadley Green romances are golden, and her latest is no exception. It’s a page-turning, emotional romance, rich in historical details and plot twists.

Lady Daria Babcock is the last debutante of Hadley Green — the old maid. To get away from knowing eyes, she volunteers to go to Scotland to visit her grandmother. The last thing Daria expects is her grandmother living in a run-down cottage, or the naked man she is “nursing.” Laird Jamie Campbell had gone to confront the woman who had swindled his uncle and taken the family fortune. The last thing he expects is to be shot and taken prisoner. When he regains his freedom, he takes Daria hostage until the money is repaid. He never expects Daria to turn his home upside down, or to become his willing prisoner. (POCKET, Mar., 354 pp., $7.99)
