The second book in Robards’ quite unusual Charlotte Stone suspense series picks up exactly where the The Last Victim left off. A departure from her previous novels, this series is a combo of suspense, supernatural thrills and a touch of romance — though, the fact that the anti-hero is dead and the heroine alive is a bit of a relationship roadblock. Filled with gritty thrills and featuring a psychopathic madman, this suspense tale will truly have you on the edge of your seat!

Having finally stopped the serial killer she escaped as a teen, Dr. Charlotte “Charlie” Stone is hoping for some peace and quiet, but as she returns home she is confronted with the ghost of convicted serial killer/bad boy Michael Garland. Since ghostly Michael saved her life, Charlie is conflicted about his hanging around, but that takes a backseat when a terrified young woman pounds on the door. According to the woman, she escaped from a homicidal manic, who directed her toward Charlie’s house. Is this the work of the Gingerbread Man? If so, things are about to get very dangerous indeed!
