THE LAST SUMMER OF BEING SINGLE (3) by Nina Harrington: After the death of her husband, Ella Martinez gives up her singing career in order to provide a stable home for her young son, Dan. She works as a housekeeper at a wealthy woman’s vacation home in France. Things heat up when the woman’s stepson arrives for a visit. Entrepreneur Sebastien Castellano isn’t used to being around children, but he soon realizes that Dan and his beautiful mother are exactly what’s missing from his life. Ella and Seb are interesting characters, but the pacing of the story is slowed by the lengthy amount of background information that fills the first few chapters.
