THE LAST TARGET (3) by Christy Barritt: Rachel Reynolds’ life is turned upside down when she and her 4-year-old son, Aidan, are rescued from an assassin by Jack Sergeant and his trained security team. The creator of Iron, Inc., Jack has been hired by her uncle to protect Rachel after her name is found on a list — and everyone else on it is dead. Always just one step ahead of the assassins, Jack and Rachel search desperately to discover why someone would want her dead, and how they seem to always know where they are. The story is fast moving and action packed, with taut suspense and a good mystery, but the identity of the villain is disappointing and the ending implausible.
