To reconnect with her daughter, Maureen Shannon moves them to her quiet hometown. But it's not the idyllic life she envisioned. Her plans to avoid men are thwarted by the attraction she feels to Jake Hartman, and her daughter's fascination with an old murder, spells trouble. C.J. Carmichael's A LASTING PROPOSAL (4) is a wonderful wrap up to the Shannon sister trilogy. The mother daughter relationship seems very real, while Jake's affection for both adds a nice twist.
