LEAD ME ON
Bestselling author Scott Lawrence has a serious case of writer's block. He arrives on Galveston Island looking for inspiration and perhaps, a relaxing fling with another thrill-seeking tourist. The last thing he expects is to fall for a prim and proper hostess.
Allison St. Claire's romantic past is not a happy one, and falling in love is not high on her list of priorities. However, the enigmatic writer, who has taken up residence at her family's inn, causes the usually demure Allison to entertain very wicked thoughts.
LEAD ME ON sizzles with sexual tension, but at times, Allison and Scott's romance doesn't live up to their physical chemistry. While the novel is well written and entertaining, the conflict between the main characters doesn't seem strong enough to carry the entire plot. A pleasant read that will surely be enjoyed by fans of both Ortolon and her previous St. Claire family romance. (Jan., 254 pp., $6.50)
