Dahl lives up to her reputation as a sensual author as she experiments with the character boundaries of Jane and Chase. While the plot would have benefited from a supporting cast with a little bit more dimension, the Morgan family is definitely diverse and quirky. This is a great plot-driven read if you're looking for a bit of holiday spice.

Former bad girl Jane Morgan is a woman on the edge -- of boredom with the stuffy new persona she's created for herself. So when sexy William Chase walks into her office -- and her bedroom -- she tries to keep him out of her heart. But how long can she hate a man who is both exciting and understanding? This transformed woman is finally forced to face her past for the lust -- or could it be love? -- of a good man. (HQN, Jan., 352 pp., $7.99)
