The first book in Kingsbury’s Bailey Flanigan series is enjoyable and heart-tugging, especially for those readers who intimately identify with the aspect of leaving one stage of life for another. The romantic storyline is slow moving and a bit tired after so many novels, but it seems as if things will be picking up in the next book.

Bailey Flanigan is excited for the movie premiere of Unlocked, but unsure about how to move forward with her relationship with star Brandon Paul. Bailey doesn’t know what happened to the budding romance with Cody Coleman and isn’t sure if she is ready to move on. Cody takes a job as a high school teacher and coach and thinks about Bailey all the time, but is also interested in Cheyenne, a vibrant young nursing student he befriends. As Bailey begins to pursue her dreams of a Broadway career, where does Cody fit into her life? (ZONDERVAN, Mar., 352 pp., $14.99)
