A forgotten promise comes back to haunt landscaper Jane Singleton. She's never gotten over loving Will McCaffrey, her old college friend. Now, as an attorney, Will must marry to show his father that he's mature enough to run the family business, and he wants Jane to be his bride. She agrees to a trial "engagement" thinking she'll make him love her and then leave him, but things don't go exactly as expected. Kate Hoffmann's LEGALLY MINE (4) puts a brand-new spin on a classic premise and makes it work beautifully, mostly because the characters sparkle and have depth.
