LET ME GO
by Chelsea Cain

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Thriller

RT Rating

Cain continues her series with detective Archie Sheridan, his sidekick Susan and their nemesis, serial killer Gretchen Lowell, in this edge-of-your-seat thriller. The characters are maturing and becoming more complex, the suspense is nonstop and plot twists shake things up. A “mobsters vs. serial killer” theme; shifting, and unlikely, allegiances; and Archie and Gretchen’s twisted relationship will keep you riveted.

With Halloween approaching, Gretchen still on the loose and a huge undercover drug sting unraveling, Archie’s life is getting more complicated. Somewhat unwillingly, Archie and Susan attend a masked party on mobster Jack Reynolds’ island, where both are in danger. When a dead body is found on a neighboring property and a video of Gretchen at the party surfaces, she’s under suspicion. But, Archie has his doubts — and an indignant Gretchen declares it is not her work, and that she will team up with Archie to find the real killer. (MINOTAUR, Aug., 336 pp., $25.99)
