Book Review

The second book in the 86 Bloomberg Place series revisits the roommates struggling with living on their own. The storyline doesn't progress very quickly, and one of the characters spends the entire book making immoral choices. Overall, though, this is an entertaining series, and the author has a true sense for writing about women in their 20s.

As Christmas approaches, the roommates don't feel very jolly. Kendall begins an affair with a married actor, Megan's job is shaky, Leilani feels stuck and can't decide how to move forward and Anna's former boyfriend is now back in her life. Is a holiday party the answer to turn their troubles into joy? (DAVID C. COOK, Sep., 256 pp., $13.99)
