Laura Shipley has never gotten over first love Liam O'Reilly. Now Liam is back in her life and demanding to be a part of it. He walked away once to let her grow up and has regretted it every minute. When he comes face to face with Liam's Secret Son (2), he becomes even more determined to have them in his life. Laura still remembers their love but is filled with bitterness at Liam's desertion. Laura needs to decide if she's going to take a chance on Liam's love or watch him walk away for a second time. Carole Mortimer's tale is a bit emotionally flat. The heroine is wishy-washy and not very sympathetic, and there isn't much of a story.
