Maintaining the overall quality and intrigue in a suspense series is difficult. Ms. Burke makes this look easy with her ability to create characters and generate edge-of-your-seat suspense!

Reporter Irene Kelly and her detective husband, Frank Harriman, are putting their lives back together in the aftermath of Frank's kidnapping. Suddenly, they
find out that someone has been interred in the empty grave next to their parents.

The new cemetery resident turns
out to be their estranged aunt, Briana Maguire. Scandal devastated Briana
when it was discovered that her husband,
Arthur Spanning, was a bigamist and also married to a much older heiress. Arthur was a suspect in the murder of his heiress wife, Gwendolyn DeMont, but no charges were ever filed.

Irene becomes the prime suspect when Aunt Briana's will turns up, naming Irene as heir to her estate.

Where is Arthur? Are all these current events linked to the DeMont murder?
Was Arthur really guilty? Fire-bombings
and other vicious attacks add to the urgency of solving this case.
