From the moment she lays eyes on him, Las Vegas P.I. Charlee Champagne knows that Mason Gentry is trouble. The wealthy Mason storms into the office Charlee shares with her grandmother Maybelline Sike and demands to know the whereabouts of his grandfather Nolan Gentry.

While Charlee doesn't have a clue as to what's up with Nolan, she suspects that Maybelline might. Mason is frustrated and a little worried about his grandfather—not only has Nolan disappeared, so has half a million dollars of company funds! On orders from his family, Mason is supposed to clean things up and get Nolan back.

When Charlee and Mason are shot at while searching Maybelline's home, they realize that things are more dangerous than they thought. The clues and the trail are leading them to Los Angeles and the old Twilight movie studio, where they are about to find a connection between the Oscars, Elvis impersonators, game shows and half a million dollars.

This wild and wacky road trip is sexy and a hoot. Wilde dishes up a delicacy that really hits the spot. (Dec., 368 pp., $5.99)
