Deborah Fletcher Mello's In the Light of Love (4) is an engrossing book with well-developed characters and a great story of abiding love in the midst of recurring obstacles. In the span of a few weeks, the city of Atlanta and the continent of Africa are not large enough to keep Talisa London and Jericho Benton apart. He performs emergency surgery on her in their first meeting; she bids on him at a charity auction. He tries to reach her by phone, but she doesn't get his messages until after he leaves the country. As a chaperone for a group of college students on a church-related mission program, Talisa encounters Jericho during an emergency for a village youth. Their strong attraction grows, and after encountering danger abroad they return home to face further obstacles.
