LIMBO MAN

Author(s):

Russian mobsters, kooky scientists and an alphabet soup of government agencies abound in this moderately paced thriller. The characters are fully developed and engaging, but the initial partnership of Sergei and Vee quickly becomes unbalanced, making Vee seem like a glorified lackey to Sergei. The plot is unbelievable at times, but it’s still entertaining.

Special Agent Valentina “Vee” Frost of the FBI relishes her new assignment with the Department of Homeland Security — except the part where she’s supposed to be “very nice” to the amnesiac Russian arms dealer Sergei Tokarev to unlock vital secrets to national security. The assignment quickly goes south as multiple parties try to kill them. As Sergei slowly regains his memory, it is revealed that two nuclear bombs are slated to go off somewhere in the States. The chase for the bombs leads them from the streets of New York to the chill of Siberia. It’s a race against time to put all the missing pieces together. (BLAIRBANCROFT.COM, dl $2.99)
