THE LONE STAR CINDERELLA (4) by Maureen Child: In the latest Texas Cattleman’s Club story, housekeeper Mia Hughes’ mogul boss is still missing, and in the meantime, she’s getting low on funds. Enter businessman Dave Firestone, who just happens to need a fake fiancée in order to secure a business deal. Reluctantly, Mia goes along with his plan, and soon their chemistry reaches a boiling point. Dave is not the marrying kind, but he also doesn’t want to lose Mia. Without love in the equation, will Mia walk away? Child’s writing flows dependably in this good read with good plot progression, but there’s still the perplexing question: Where in the world is Alex Santiago?
