This fourth story set in Konigsburg, Tex., has a soupçon of humor, delightful human and animal characters, an excellent romance and a bit of a mystery. A wonderful story that readers will be sorry to see end.

Eric Toleffson, acting chief of police of Konigsburg, is just getting to know his three younger brothers as adults. He hasn’t always been the best big brother, but Eric is trying to mend some fences. Falling for Morgan Barrett, who is home helping at her father’s winery, is not in his plans. Discovering illegal chemical dumping on land Morgan’s father is interested in buying causes Morgan and Eric to spend time together and explore their mutual attraction. However, it’s the mayor of Konigsburg, who has no interest in Eric being police chief on a more permanent basis, who may ruin Eric and Morgan’s plans for the future.
