LONGING AND LIES (4.5) by Donna Hill: Hill wonderfully wraps up the TLC (the Ladies Cartel) series with a story boasting well-written and multifaceted characters, a strong plot and integral input from secondary characters from previous stories. Ashley Temple is an event planner's assistant and a secret member of TLC -- an organization of women agents who solve cases. For her latest assignment, Ashley is partnered with Elliott Morgan, who prefers working alone after some emotionally devastating years. He's to pose as her adoring husband while they break up a baby-selling ring. Neither Ashley nor Elliott is prepared to deal with their personal feelings and emotional issues. Can they solve the case and resolve their desire to be together?
