The always awesome Janzen wraps up her Steele Street series with a rapid-fire thriller stuffed with plenty of emotional punch! This series has been a wild roller-coaster ride filled with intriguing and unforgettable characters who are thrown into highly dangerous scenarios. As the title indicates, loose threads as well as the bombshell dropped in the previous book are brought to a hugely satisfactory conclusion! Here’s a stellar end to an amazing series!
The entire Special Defense Force was stunned when they discovered that the man calling himself Conroy Farrel was in fact an amnesia-stricken J.T. Chronopolous. Con, as he is now known, was tortured, drugged and used as a human guinea pig in an attempt to make a supersoldier by a black-ops organization. The SDF gang captures Scout, a young woman Con has a fatherly instincts toward, in hopes of luring him in. During his mission to retrieve Scout, Con runs into Jane Linden, a woman from his forgotten past, who strikes an immediate and sizzling chord. However, all their lives are now threatened by a twisted supersoldier who is more creature than man. (DELL, Feb., 400 pp., $7.99)
