Princess Ariana of Valenwood is enslaved by mechanical Automons. The slave colony's
virile leader, though outwardly barbaric, has an inner core of nobility that attracts
her to him, and their innocent passion becomes the only solace in this hideous
prison. When Ariana notices signs that the colony will soon be destroyed, she
escapes with her nameless protector, but he is recaptured.

Bred in the slave colony, Damen doesn't have a name or a future until Ariana
gives one to him. Shortly after Ariana escapes, Damen engineers a rebel-lion and
successfully escapes with the other slaves. Ten years later Ariana searches for
the colony and traces of her slave lover. He's now a pirate and she becomes
his hostage. Young love has grown into mature passion, but they
each have unshared secrets.

Stobie Piel's tale of revenge and
discovery is an exhilarating broth of steamy sensual heat. (Dec., 368 pp., $5.99)
