Surprising, sensual and full of magic! The fairies of Annwyn can be ruthless, so playing the game properly can mean the difference between life and death, especially during such a perilous time of transition. Taryn and Verden try to be careful, neither one expecting to fall in love. Fantastic worldbuilding and compelling characters will make readers yearn for another foray into the world of fairy.

Taryn isn’t cut out for court intrigue, but she returns to Annwyn seeking a pardon for her father from a king who is at the end of his reign. Winter is coming to Annwyn and those caught on the mortal plane will die during the upcoming power shift, so Taryn must chose her path carefully before time runs out. She accepts help from Verden, the current Lord of the Hunt, a man loyal to the king, and he teaches her to navigate the complications and games that are a regular part of living at Court. Verden is attracted to her genuine beauty and kind heart, but his attraction is a dangerous thing should the wrong people find out. (SOURCEBOOKS, Jan., 320 pp., $7.99)
