Here’s a debut novel that literally shines like the stars. Brown utilizes astrology to characterize, motivate and delve into intense emotions. The interesting concept has this romance soaring out of the ordinary in ways that will melt readers’ hearts. Here’s hoping this is the first in a long line of many fresh novels.

According to Eliza Farrell’s astrological calculations, Edward Neville, Lord Harwood, aka Lord Lightning, is nothing like his reputation as a libertine with a hot temper and a cold heart. To her he is a man looking for love, but when Edward loses his mistress because of Eliza, he insists she accompany him when he visits his estranged mother to comply with his brother’s will. Not only will this give Eliza a chance to earn much-needed funds, but she can watch astrology in action. Eliza plays her role, infuriating Edward’s mother, but for all his cynicism Edward is drawn to Eliza. They become friends and lovers before tragedy strikes and secrets are revealed.
