THE LOST

The Lost is one exciting follow-up! The romance between Kit and Grif is equal parts passion and doubt, keeping the readers hanging on to reach the conclusion. And what a conclusion! Things are finally progressing in the right direction, but when some questions are answered, more are raised. This is a wonderful sequel, but it leaves more than enough material for the next installment.

Minor angel Griffin Shaw is desperate to find out who killed him and his wife, Evie, 50 years ago. At the same time, he doesn’t want to lose his new love, Katherine “Kit” Craig. While their relationship is beset by the lingering sadness, modern-day Vegas is being terrorized by a new drug that eats the flesh off the victims’ bodies. This brings Grif and Kit straight into the middle of a drug battle. As usual, Kit is never one to let someone die without a fighting chance, even if that puts her soul — and her relationship with Grif — on the line. (HARPER VOYAGER, Mar., 368 pp., $14.99)
