Each story develops in creative directions with regards to the romantic escapades. The professional players deliver a lot of game to the respective objects of their desire. The two most promising tales are "Worth More Than Gold" by Blaze and "The Girl Behind the Gold" by Kane. Both had believable romantic entanglements and compelling character dynamics. By comparison, the other two novellas had unsatisfying character interactions and unfavorable plot scenarios. Between skiing, snowboarding and hockey there is something to satisfy every winter Olympic fan.

Love and Other Games is a four story anthology written by authors Ana Blaze, Melinda Dozier, Aria Kane, and Kara Leigh Miller. Each novella is set in Switzerland during the Olympics and follows four different athletes finding romance and battling superstition in their attempt to win gold. Blaze’s "Worth More Than Gold" follows Amy, who manages her sister’s ice skating career as she meets a Norwegian ski jumper, Erik. Dozier’s "Trouble with Gold" illustrates the antics of snowboarder Ty Madsen when paired against the straight-laced volunteer, Nadia. In Kane’s "The Girl Behind the Gold", with the help of Brandon James, a gold-hearted journalist, Lia Milonas sets her sights on Olympic gold to save her family’s farm in Greece. And in "Ice Gold" by Miller, photographer Brenna nearly ruins hockey player Colton’s shot, but repays him in the most creative ways. (SWOON ROMANCE, dl, $0.99, E, 18 & Up)
