Almost five years after their memorable first meeting, illustrator Liz Duncan crosses paths with David Logan once more. David is working at the U.S. embassy in Moscow, and Liz is about to adopt a Russian infant as a single mother. To Liz's surprise, David is very accepting and goes out of his way to spend time with her—and her baby, Natasha. So it's easy for Liz to turn to David when black marketeers try to kidnap Natasha. To Love and Protect (3), by Susan Mallery, kicks off the Logan's Legacy series with some tense moments and gives few hints as to what can be expected from this new continuity line. The characters are nicely developed, though, and the sexual tension between them is extremely potent.
