The extended Kowalski family adds a domestic feel to the environs around the Northern Star Lodge as Drew and Liz begin their romantic journey. There are familiar threads in this entertaining storyline, and the power of compromise leads to a happy ending.

Divorcée Liz Kowalski is on her way back to Whitford, Maine, when her car goes off the road. Police Chief Drew Miller is stunned when he is called to the scene and discovers his best friend Mitch’s sister is back in town. Liz and Drew had one brief night together before she left, and the feelings of attraction start to return once Liz discovers Drew’s now ex-wife told him she never wanted children. Both are reluctant to let Mitch in on their mutual feelings, but Drew’s desire for a family is also a stumbling block in forming a relationship with Liz, who is not sure how she feels about children in her immediate future.
