Detective Pete Fleming suffered a tragedy at work and has been sent to his boss' lake house to recuperate mentally and physically. Widow Amanda Hunter runs a camp for troubled boys on the property next door. Reluctantly, Pete begins to help with the boys, although he has doubts that any lives can be turned around. Sparks fly between Pete and Amanda, but their lives are going in different directions. In Love Next Door (4), Anna Schmidt goes beyond the typical romance, adding a touch of suspense. The underlying theme of dealing with grief adds depth and dimension.
