Day has carved a niche for herself as the voice for the full-figured heroine. And she does it with well-crafted dialogue and humor. Add the right man and you’ve got a very entertaining read. The entire story flows smoothly and the happy ending is completely satisfying.

Dominique is happy being editor of Capricious magazine and raising her son, Justin. When he starts playing football, things get a bit complicated. Her son’s coach, Jake, is very easy on the eyes and just as attracted to her. But — he’s her son’s coach. She doesn’t want Justin to become too attached. She’s already had two failed relationships and doesn’t want him to suffer through another. Jake, meanwhile, is willing to try until the specter of his father’s early death from heart disease rears its ugly head through his brother’s heart attack. Will his fears keep him from moving forward just when Dominique is ready to commit? (DAFINA, Dec., 360 pp., $6.99)
