TO LOVE A STALLION
Debra Fletcher Mello's handling of the growth and development of Marah Briscoe is phenomenal in To Love a Stallion (4.5). John Stallion is strong and mature beyond his years, which makes him the perfect "hero" for Marah. This is a rich story with great supporting characters. When Marah finds out that John's company has an agreement with her father to purchase the family ranch she's outraged. The baby of the family, Marah tends to see what she wants to see. She sees her father as a weak, grief-stricken man when actually he's moved on since his wife's death. Her need to hold on to the ranch is more about her. John shows Marah how much he cares for her throughout the story, and when tragedy strikes his strength and encouragement carry her through.
