The dragon world is up to its ears in problems as the infamous Baltic returns. The heroine is at a real disadvantage, as the only connection she has to her dragon past is amazingly vivid dreams. Most of the usual cast members make an appearance, which is half the fun of these novels. It's always time for the weird and wacky in a MacAlister book!

Tully Sullivan really doesn't care much for her husband Gareth, but she adores her son Brom. Working as an apprentice to Mage Kostich, Tully is familiar with the supernatural, but she thinks she is human. After a fugue state, Tully wakes up surrounded by dragons who believe she is the reincarnation of Ysolde de Boucher, the mate of the dangerous black dragon Baltic.

Baltic has also apparently been reborn and is causing considerable consternation in the dragon world. As his mate, Tully is sentenced to death for his misdeeds. A ticked-off Tully is not about to stand for that! If she can get her hands on Baltic, she is going to wring his handsome neck. (SIGNET, May, 352 pp., $7.99)
