A LOVE UNTAMED

Fans of this series will be very pleased with the consistent characters and basic premise. However, the rituals that the characters go through can be a bit tedious; they do advance the story and the development of the characters, so it is a bit of a trade-off. This series definitely follows a formula that can grow slightly tiresome. Fox and Melisande save the day with their intensity and passion, making the story engaging overall.

Fox is very eager to prove himself as the newest member of the Feral Warriors. When paired with the renowned warrior Melisande, he discovers that they work well together on the front lines against their mortal enemies, the daemons. Fox expects her to fall at his feet from his considerable charm, but instead he is spellbound by her beauty. Melisande has endured intense suffering, leading to a passionate hatred of shapeshifters. Her icy feelings begin to melt as she spends more time with Fox and learns to trust again. When they become ensnared in a mage trap, their mutual faith in one another is the only thing that can set them free. (AVON, Jan., 384 pp., $7.99)
