LOVER AT LAST
Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, M/M
“At Last” is truly an apt descriptor, as longtime fans are finally rewarded with Qhuinn and Blaylock’s love story. Unrequited love and missed opportunities have dogged these heroes as they have dealt with societal — and their own — prejudices. As a bonus, a couple more intriguing character threads are being added to the fascinating plot tapestry that is a hallmark of this epic series. The richness, darkness and expanding nature of Ward’s world have made this series one of the best in the genre! Brava!
For years Blay faced heartbreak as he slowly came to accept that his romantic love for his best friend, Qhuinn, was unrequited. Blay has now found some happiness with another. Qhuinn, who has faced rejection his whole life, wanted something for himself, so he agreed to father the Chosen’s child. However neither relationship is truly fulfilling for either Blay or Qhuinn. In an ominous turn, the Brotherhood is now facing attack from two directions — first in their ever-present war with the Lessers, but also from the Band of Bastards who want to overthrow King Wrath. In the midst of treachery and danger, can Qhuinn and Blay recognize the truth about their feelings? (NAL, Apr., 608 pp., $27.95)
