From the start, Black Dagger Brotherhood fans have been breathlessly awaiting the new destiny of reincarnated John Matthew to be revealed. Mega-talented Ward doesn't do easy relationships, as is evidenced by several ongoing threads that continue to be explored. Past and present events shadow each other, making the passion, drama and treachery of this book all the more riveting. Ward is in a class by herself!

Life has kicked John Matthew in the teeth on numerous occasions, but the abduction of half vampire/ half sympath Xhex has nearly destroyed him. John's bitter enemy Lash has Xhex imprisoned as his personal sex toy. Finding Xhex and taking revenge on Lash are all that drives a tormented John.

Xhex's own dark past has kept her from trusting or accepting love. Can John change her mind? Critical events from the distant past are explored in flashbacks, leading to stunning revelations. The Brotherhood cannot ignore the ongoing war with the evil Omega and his lessors, for their strength may be growing. (NAL, May, 528 pp., $25.95)

The Blackdagger Brotherhood series has to be the best Vampire books ever! The wait for John Matthews book was long but well worth it. I read this book in less than one weekend, I couldn't put it down. The connection between John and Xhex just draws you into their world and you have can't put down the book. I can't wait until the next book comes out.

My favorite of all the books.

My favorite of all the books. I love the struggle, the power and vulnerability she gives to the leading character. This book is amazing; I preordered and couldn't put it down.

Lover Mine A Novel Of The Black Dagger Brotherhood

There is something dark happening in Caldwell, New York and John Matthew is in the middle of it.

I don't want to give away any spoilers but I loved this book. this is John Matthew's book, but there are six story lines going on at the same time. John Matthew and Xhex, Blaylock and Qhuinn. Eliahu Rathboone, Wrath and Payne, Daruis and Tohr, and of course Lash. If you are a lover of the Black Dagger Brotherhood you will love this book.

This series is addicting.

This book picks up just a couple of weeks after the last. John Matthew vows to rescue his mate, Xhex, who was abducted by Lash and is being held in a room by a magical spell. Once free, Xhex joins the brothers in battling Lash and the Lesser Society, but refuses to admit her emotional connection to John.

The book concentrates on several relationships. Ward has written a very satisfying story for JM and Xhex. An interesting subplot is the relationship between Blay and Qhuinn. These best friends have been distant with each other since Blay admitted that he loved Qhuinn. Now Qhuinn is jealous when Blay decides he has to get on with his life, and starts a relationship with Qhuinn's cousin, Saxton.

Other subplots of the story is a flashback to Darius becoming friends with a young Tohr, and a story about a ghosthunters type reality show that feels out of place. But, it all ties together in the end of the book.

Can't wait for the next installment. Ward will have a hard time topping this book. My rating: 5 Stars.
